And I fell in Love with my Blog!

Blog Love is something that came into picture via BlogChatter. Since it's "Valentine's Day" today, here I'm taking the baton of Blog Love from Menaka to express my love for Blogging or say, my blog in specific.

There are many things that strikes a chord in my heart when I think of them. Be it photography, singing, traveling, cricket, love for history etc. I love to talk about everything , and when I say everything, I'm seriously nodding my head in affirmation! Yes, I am a confused soul and don't have control on my own opinions and decisions. But I'm like that. No, I'm not insane! but absent minded at times. Yes,that's me! ๐Ÿ˜

So, this absent minded "Me" was a lost soul, a few years ago. He had his own way of observing and looking at things. Never sure of what was he upto, but the guy had some spark to do something really big!  And one fine day, he stumbled upon a blog, that changed his life and perception of looking at things in a different yet creative manner. Despite of many ups and downs in his over complicated life, he rose above all the hard times and signed up on blogger to share his long-lost love for poetry and photography. And that day was engraved in history for the ages to come. Okay, I have this filmy bug of acting.... I know, weird at times. I do that often when i am in good mood. I know...I know, I have exaggerated my bio. ๐Ÿ˜œ

I am no legend or not even a mere blogger. But whatever I share thru my blogposts expresses a lot about me and my thoughts. Blogging gives me thoughts to express, especially when I feel low at times. Yes, writing down your thoughts is something that helps everyone in long run. We can always look back in time and analyze oneself from within. I remember those days when my father used to arrange my childhood pictures in photo albums with great affection and care. For him, those were memories that he collected of me, so that i can rejoice in my old age by looking at those memories. I feel awesome when I look back in time thru those pictures. And that's what motivates me to write more about life experiences. Yes, I express my thoughts thru poetry and pictures, yes pictures; a picture speaks a thousand words and how we weave a story thru it describes a lot about our way of looking things.

For me, my blog gives me wings to share what I feel and observe around me; my random yet unspoken thoughts.

Now, I pass on the baton of Blog Love to Manisha. Here you go! ๐Ÿ˜Š

There comes a time in everyone's life when a person feels sad before leaving his/her home. Separation is something that plays a hard part when you live far from home and visit on certain occasions, that too for short periods. I always feel that whether parents shows their emotions or not as they miss their children immensely when they live far from them.

So here's a poem, I'm sharing with you all! The first two stanzas depicts the sad emotion and the last stanza depicts the joy (like a happy ending)!

Music- A Natural Healer

There are some songs which makes us sleep at nights, there are some songs which makes us party all night with our friends and there are some songs which keeps us alive when we feel lonely and in the world of long lost thoughts. There are various other categories as well, but the songs we select for each category belongs to our taste only. From person to person their taste differs and it’s a fact because I have seen this in my friends. I normally listen to slow and romantic songs, whereas most of my friends like flashy and loud songs. For me it’s more like moody stuff, I can listen slow songs anytime and in any hour of day, but loud songs are only bearable when in disc or shaadi baarats. I am not a party spoiler, if the majority likes hip-hop songs then I stay quiet and don’t fight with others to create ruckus.

For me, music is a soulful partner which accompanies me when I am sad, happy, confused etc. etc. Music refreshes my mood and keeps it up and running in those times. There is so much which keeps us busy daily and in that busy schedule, music is the only source which acts as the energy supplier.

I like all kind of songs whether they are old songs or ghazals or English songs or Indi albums or new and mid era Bollywood songs. There are so many genres to pick out someone’s favorite set of songs, but here I am sharing some of my favorite songs which I listen during late hours to soothe my mind and soul.

1)    Pehla Nasha from Jo jeeta wohi sikandar

2)    Koi Fariyad from Tum Bin
3)    Kahaani Title song from Kahani
4)    Kabira from Ye jawani hai diwani
5)    I won't give up by Jason Mraz
6)    Zinda from Lootera
7)    Maa from Tare Zameen par
8)    Poems by Javed Akhtar in Farhan Akhtar’s voice from Zindagi na milegi dobara
9)    Prems theme by Papon from Dum lagake Haisha
10)  Heartbeat theme from Kal ho na ho
11)   When you say nothing at all by Ronan Keating
12)  Tu hi re from Bombay
13)  Dil se mere from Pyar mein kabhi kabhi
14)  Luv shuv tey chicken khurana theme from Luv shuv tey chicken khurana
15)  Saanwli si raat from Barfi

There are lot many other songs as well which I like, but these are few which I consider some of the bests during late night hours.

Happy listening! And do share your list of favorite songs :)

Regrets: Dream Desire Destiny by Shahrukh Ahmad #BookReview

If you are an entrepreneur or planning to set up your start-up in near future, then this debut novel "Regrets: Dream Desire Destiny" by Shahrukh Ahmad is the perfect book which will give you ideas about how a person starts a firm from initial level to the million dollar company. Its basically the story which rotates around Sameer; the main protagonist of this novel. He is an enthusiastic person when it comes to business, and a person who has a haunting past which he hides from everyone. He has a best friend and business partner in Nishant, who is more than a brother to him. And a caring girlfriend in Preeti, who loves him madly.

Its a story of Sameer's life, in which his desires, dreams and his accomplishments are showcased. A story where love, friendship and aspirations of Sameer are blended together in a wonderful manner. And above all the message which Shahrukh has tried to convey thru this book, is portrayed perfectly.

Now the things which I like about the book

1) The book is very well paced. Its a light read, and at no point you feel like taking pauses in middle.
2) It has a story which any college going student can easily relate to. The experiences shared of Sameer's collge life are very realistic and very much relatable.
3) The story is new and fresh. It has all the ingredients like love, friendship, pain, broken relations and chase after dreams. Shahrukh has wonderfully mixed the ingredients and made this book a perfect recipe from reader's perspective.
4) This being author's first book, I must admit that editing team has done a very good job.

Now the things which I didn't like about the book

1) I felt that Preeti's role was very strong, but somehow Sameer's and Preeti's relationship was not explained properly. There was no mention of their budding relationship after the chapter where Sameer stays at Preeti's place and then leaves for Indore the very next morning. What happens after that and how their relationship comes on track afterwards, is one thing which I felt was incomplete in the narration.
2) The cover is not very appealing. Its okay but could have been better.

Final thoughts

Overall, I would say that this is a light read that engages the reader completely. You can feel for the protagonist when he suffers from his darker side as well as you can show your anger when he takes wrong decisions and regrets later.

I would give it 3.25 stars on 5.

A nice read!

Unofficially Yours: Saga of Friends Who Fell in Love by Ayushi Jain #BookReview

I never wrote a single review for any novel before, but this novel made me to write about it for the very first time.I must admit that writing reviews is not an easy task at all, and writing a book with all the ingredients put together in perfect balance is even more difficult than anything else. And this novel has definitely passed on every parameter that a novel must possess. Its a beautiful piece of impressive writing and very well narrative script. This being author's first novel surely has managed to touch the audience's heart and soul.I always feel that a good novel is that which makes you imagine about the story and its characters, and the style of writing the author has showcased thru this novel justifies that statement. Its always hard to maintain the pace in stories like these, but the author did justice to what she wrote and there was no sign of boredom faced while reading it. There were so many things which one could relate thru this tale of friends who fell in love, some from the college days, some from the company days and some from the personal relationships.Sometime it brings tears to your eyes, and at times it brings smile to your face.Everything is blended together so very well that it stands out as the novel which is a must read for everyone.

To say the least, its that kind of a book which attracts its readers and makes them experience the sheer joy of being in friendship and relationship together.
