आज फिर एक बार बिरहा की घड़ी आयी ...



There comes a time in everyone's life when a person feels sad before leaving his/her home. Separation is something that plays a hard part when you live far from home and visit on certain occasions, that too for short periods. I always feel that whether parents shows their emotions or not as they miss their children immensely when they live far from them. 

So here's a poem, I'm sharing with you all! The first two stanzas depicts the sad emotion and the last stanza depicts the joy (like a happy ending)!


आज फिर एक बार बिरहा की घड़ी आयी ...
अपनों से दूर जाने की जो खबर ये लायी ,
आज फिर एक बार बिरहा की घड़ी आयी ...
वक़्त के पन्ने कब पलटते गए ,
न खबर हमको कभी लग पायी ,
आज फिर एक बार बिरहा की घड़ी आयी ...
ये जो गहरे रिश्तों को कभी न भूल पायी ,
आज फिर एक बार बिरहा की घड़ी आयी ...

घर की रौनक को छोड़ चले जा रहे हैं हम सब ,
माता-पिता से दूरिया जो बढ़ा रहे हैं हम सब ,
ये बात किसी को न समझ आयी ,
आज फिर एक बार बिरहा की घड़ी आयी ...
वो जो ममता के एहसास को भुलाते जा रहे हैं ,
वो जो अपनों के गमो को हम समझ न पा रहे हैं ,
ये खेल की बिसात में ,
जो जीवन की बाज़ी लगायी ,
आज फिर एक बार बिरहा की घड़ी आयी ....

दिल की बात जो आज समझ आयी ,
अंधेरे में एक लौ जो तुमने जलायी ,
खुशी है की रात सुहानी आज नज़र आयी ,
आज फिर एक बार बिरहा की घड़ी आयी ...
नये किस्से जो ये साथ में लायी ,
नये वादे ये जो संग कर आयी ,
बिरहा होने का दर्द ये छोड़ आयी ,
आज फिर एक बार खुशी की लहर सी छायी ...
आज फिर एक बार खुशी की लहर सी छायी ...

  1. This was so beautiful Saumy! I was teary eyed thinking about parting from my kids as they will grow up eventually! Very eloquently written....direct dil se, I am guessing!

  6. This is such a heart touching and beautiful poem,Saumy. It reminds me of my days I was away from my parents, where I thought it wasn't a big deal but went teary-eyed every time.

  11. Naustalgic Saumy! When I went to college leaving home, it was really tough, but tougher was the time when I had to leave after marriage. very nice poem, you should write more of these, loving the style.
